ToC level 2 was set to not be bolded, but it copies the formatting of the text I link it to. If each level of a ToC copies its source, why isn't my ToC level 1 bold? Highlight the title, then click the Change Case button on the ribbon. The Change Case button provides a shortcut for formatting text in Word. Or, highlight the text, go to Format > Change Case…. You can also change the case in Word by using the menu option. In fact, embedding a font is as easy as 1-2-3! Here’s a three-step guide: Step one: Open your Word document with MS Word. Click “File” from the menu tab and click “options” at the selections. A new window will appear. Step two: On the new window, there is a navigation on the left side. Select “Save” then tick the box thatAssuming that you do configure your documents to be Word templates (read bold links above), changes in the normal template will not change anything used in those templates. Changing the Default Font. You can also change the default font Word uses whenever a new document is created. Open the "Home" tab and click the arrow in the corner near the word "Font."Click on File. Click on Options. Click on Advanced. Under the "Cut, copy, and paste" section, use the "Paste from other programs" drop-down menu and select the Keep Text Only option. (Optional Do the following: In the document, click to select the actual number for Heading 1, and then press Ctrl+SpaceBar to remove direct font formatting. In 7-Zip, right click \word\styles.xml and select Edit. You might see some . This means the language in the current document is set to "English (United States)" as in the ISO 639-1 standard language codes. Change "en-US" to the language you want to set as default. Word displays the Modify Style dialog box. Click on the Format button and choose Font. Word displays the Font dialog box. Change the font information, as desired. Click on OK to close the Font dialog box. Make sure the Add to Template check box is selected, at the bottom of the Modify Style dialog box. Click on OK.
If you choose a bullet or number using one of the Bullets/Numbering buttons, Word will use the List Paragraph style. You can, of course, modify this style to use the font you prefer (or you can change the default font, which will then apply to List Paragraph), but a better option is to use one of the built-in bulleted or numbered styles, formatted to your preference.
You need to modify the size of the font in the Normal style (any any other styles that you want to use) and then, before dismissing the Modify Style dialog, check the radio button for "New documents based on this template".
